Dubai, UAE – 21st September, 2016

The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) hosted two workshops on the role neuroscience can play in astute business leadership.

The two workshops, which were hosted at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), saw renowned guest speaker Dr. Parisa Zarnegar PHD educate DBWC members and non-members on various aspects of neuroscience and how its research can be applied in business, specifically in areas including human interaction, decision-making, trust, fairness and reactions.

The first day’s workshop, which was opened to the general public, included a seminar on neuro-effective leadership chaired by Dr. Zarnegar, who discussed organisational culture and how senior corporate leaders can hone their brains to process high levels of stress and volumes of information. The second members-only workshop focused on mastering change management via neuroscience, with Dr. Zarnegar advising attendees on how optimal behavior can solve complex business challenges.

“The DBWC network of members and followers consist of influential business women figures and – much like billions of women around the world - they face constant challenges keeping a work-life balance,” said HE Dr. Raja Easa Saleh Al Gurg, President of the DBWC.

“Dr. Zarnegar is one of the world’s leading neuroscience researchers and have structured these insightful workshops to focus on the importance of neuroscience in modern business and how it can provide guidance and education to our members and public guests. The sessions provided inspiration to budding entrepreneurs and businesses at all levels of the corporate ladder.”

The workshops were held as part of DBWC’s ongoing schedule of regular events which aim to provide empowerment, skill development and networking opportunities for members.
