DBWC is a nonprofit group with strong backing from Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and other Dubai Government Departments. Consequently, we are able to offer our members many opportunities which would otherwise be out of their reach.

The mentorship program for DBWC members aims to help business women succeed in their business and career by helping them develop their skills in order to prosper in their chosen fields. Chosen candidates will benefit from getting a one to one mentorship opportunity by industry experts who represent multinational and SME Enterprises as well as leading government entities.

Dubai Business Women Council aims to drive entrepreneurship amongst women in the UAE through diverse Entrepreneurship Initiatives:

Ro’Ya Academy for Entrepreneurship 2014 & 2015

Ro’ya, an initiative launched in 2014, was an opportunity for women in the UAE who had an idea for a business but didn’t have the financial capability or the know-how to venture into it. Along with offering financial support to female entrepreneurs through a competition, the initiative provided participants with the opportunity to meet and learn about the fundamentals of starting a business from a range of industry experts and over a span of 6 weeks of attending intensive business set-up related courses. This initiative was offered to women only and was at NO cost.

MindCloud Entrepreneurship Program 2017:

The Mind Cloud Entrepreneurship Programme was an innovative business venture, that is in line with DBWC’s mission to promote gender balance and aid UAE women in their fearless ambitions to make ever more valuable contributions to society. With innovation and education central to the development of human capital, the Mindcloud programme targeted an inclusive audience of students, SME entrepreneurs and corporate employees with an A-Z curriculum of tailor-made theoretical and practical courses led by real entrepreneurs.

The Mind Cloud Academy Entrepreneurship Programme courses included: Customer Acquisition & Retention; Legal & Governance; Mindful Leadership; Business Model; Design Thinking; Finance; Marketing & PR; Pivoting Business Model; Sales Strategies and Scaling Up Strategies. Each course in the programme was certified as part of the KHDA-certified diploma.

Gender Parity

Women and Leadership Seminar Series in collaboration with University of Wollongong in Dubai and UNDP- Launched in 2015

The Women and Leadership Seminar Series was launched in 2015 with endorsement from HE Dr. Raja Al Gurg, President of the Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC). The series have been a highly engaging platform with many eminent Women Leaders from within the region who have shared their Leadership Narratives and success stories in order to create awareness amongst other women and provide guidance for others to follow. Guests included women leaders from the public and private sector who have accomplished great success throughout their careers. The core idea of the series is to celebrate the success stories of these amazing working women to inspire positive and sustainable change.

Gender Balance Best Practices Forum- Launched 2015:

This forum organized by the DBWC and the UOWD, offers valuable success insights in to how the region’s private and public sectors have transformed prevailing gender parity issues into rewarding business solutions. The forums focus on the UAE’s proven success in inclusive organizational cultures that pointed to severe gender inequality and pay gap within the international labor market.

Membership Fees:

AED 500 for residents of the UAE

USD 200 for those residing and working outside the UAE

Membership Validity:

The annual membership is valid for one year from the month you sign up.

Membership Terms and conditions:

  • Membership is open to all working/ employed women
  • In case you do any free-lance work, you will need to have a free-lance license in order to be eligible for a membership
  • Membership is valid for one year from the month you sign up and make the payment
  • Special Offers Segment is accessible through a username and password that is given to every new member upon completing the membership requirements and making the payment
  • Posting special offers on the DBWC website are subject to approval of the Council’s management
  • A membership card will be provided to all members and must be presented at all points of sales to avail special offers/ discounts.
