Annual Women in Business Forum 2023 addresses ‘Sustainability’ 

The University of Manchester Middle East Centre’s Annual Women in Business Forum hosts leaders from various industries who share their successes – and challenges - as leaders in business and their views based on a central theme (previous themes – Mentorship; Women in Tech; Entrepreneurship; Leadership; Equity, Diversity and Inclusion).

This year, in keeping with the UAE’s declared Year of Sustainability (‘Today for Tomorrow’) in 2023, we are focusing on sharing knowledge, insights and leadership stories and experiences around the theme of ‘Sustainability’, to help educate and inspire others.

Our aim is to show and share how regional leaders and organisations are contributing to making a difference in their organisations, industries and communities, individually and collectively. We also aim to inspire collective action towards sustainable business practices and foster collaboration to address some of our shared environmental and other challenges. 

Your knowledge and participation will be invaluable and we do hope that you can not only join the forum but also contribute to the interaction we aim to stimulate.

Share your success and your views

During the forum, guests will have the opportunity to share some brief highlights of their organisation’s sustainability programmes and priorities. Everyone will be able to contribute to an interactive in-room survey on the challenges and opportunities of addressing business sustainability issues across the ESG spectrum, as we approach COP28 hosted in the UAE later this year.

The UAE’s hosting of COP28 builds on the country’s track record of action to meet the global climate challenge. The UAE is a global hub for logistics, transportation and green technology and is at the crossroads of business, commerce and tourism. The country is therefore uniquely positioned to build bridges and foster consensus to accelerate inclusive climate progress.
