Despite the many contributions that women make to the economic cycle and development around the world, most women-owned companies still face a variety of challenges and barriers that prevent them from accessing market opportunities and/or entering corporate supply chains. Through this interactive workshop, we seek to address the challenges facing women-owned companies in the procurement process by understanding the procurement methodology in the private and government sectors and preparing female entrepreneurs to compete and succeed in commercial bids.

During this session, they will present the following:

• Understanding the procurement processes in both the public and private sectors (RFQs-RFPs-RFIs, tenders, clarifications, and delivery dates)
• The importance and role of B2B approaches to commercial expansion
• Preparing women entrepreneurs to compete and succeed in commercial bidding
• How to register with companies and on procurement platforms (e-supply for example)
• Improving and motivating some of the basic internal elements of companies such as organizational structure, human resources and governance
• Preparation and presentation of high-quality technical proposals
• The importance of cooperation and/or partnerships for joint proposals
• Pricing considerations and guidance regarding financial offers
• Assessment of financial requirements such as tender fees and/or bid bonds
• How to manage contracts after award
