On behalf of Child Early Intervention Medical Center we are pleased to invite you to the Sixth Annual Walk for Autism , supported by UAE Red Crescent and in collaboration with Dubai Health Care City and Dubai Municipality. The walk will be held on Saturday, 26 April 2014 at Zabeel park in order to celebrate the International Autism Awareness month which is in April.
Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorder affecting 1 in 55 children born today. More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes and cancer combined. Autism is the fastest growing serious developmental disability across the world. There is no medical detection or cure for autism.
Walk for Autism, is a fun fair family event for children and families. It is our single most powerful source to raise awareness and help integrate special children in our community. The Walk for Autism has been organized since the past four years and this year we expecting more than 8000 participants children and adults of all nationalities. Extensive press coverage with newspapers, magazines in English and Arabic along with online, radio and media coverage will be planned to cover the event.
Part of the activities will include entertainment by Dubai Drums, DJ, health and safety corner, bake sales, educational activities by Mad science and an art and craft area. The invitation for the walk will be sent to all special need centers, schools, nurseries, clinics and hospitals and other major companies and establishments.
