This session will be led by Professor Rafael Sarandeses and two of his former students, Patricia Guerreiro (IMBA20) and Tim Riley (IMBA20).
After the session, you will split into smaller groups and meet your future peers!
Rafael Sarandeses, IE University Professor, Head of Financial Services at Talengo and Executive & Career Coach. Rafael is a hybrid executive with a 20+ years track record developed in 4 countries across Europe and Africa, in which adaptability and learning agility have been a constant. With a passion for career development, he has a hands-on, practitioners’-based understanding of performance and change management.
Currently on his 6th career, his professional life spans from professional motorsports (1998 Spanish F3 Champion), to investment banking (Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley) to entrepreneurship (3x founder, including co-founding merchant banking firm ThirdWay Africa in 2014).
Patricia Guerreiro, Executive coach, and IMBA20. Patricia helps students and young professionals transition into a career they love and guide them to uncover and fully explore their potential. Patricia works with teams and organizations to tackle their biggest roadblocks and achieve greater harmony and success. Patricia is a Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Center certified Executive and TEAM coach, has launched her own coaching practice, Patricia Guerreiro Coaching, and is currently studying to achieve her International MBA at the IE Business School.
Tim Riley, IMBA20
Tim is from Chicago, USA where he earned a full athletic scholarship to play American football and graduated with his BA in Economics from Northwestern University in 2013. After working at North America’s largest independent specialty insurance broker as an underwriter within a leadership development program, he transitioned to a proprietary trading firm focused on the S&P 500. Wanting to challenge himself further he elected to pursue an accelerated International MBA at IE Business School in Madrid in hopes to successfully transition into a career that maximizes his potential and fulfillment. With a passion for sports and business, he jumped on the opportunity to intern at Benfica football club in Lisbon within their international growth department and is now in pursuit of his next endeavor.
