TWS Legal Consultants and Global Thinkers Forum host sessions with members

Dubai, UAE, 29 January 2015 - The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC), the official representative organization for business women, both professionals and entrepreneurs, in the Emirate of Dubai, hosted two partner events this week for its exclusive members. TWS Legal Consultants facilitated a session on inheritance and guardianship laws that prevail in the UAE, on Tuesday 27 January, while the Global Thinkers Forum, on Thursday 29 January, shed light on what leading with values for organizational excellence is all about.

"Through our partners we are able to give our members access to insightful knowledge that can usually be hard to come by," said Mrs. Raja Al Gurg, President of DBWC. "Since it's the beginning of the year, we are aiming to give our members the required advice, support and knowledge they will require throughout the year and we are delighted that TWS Legal Consultants and the Global Thinkers Forum could share their expertise with us."

Leah Cimino and Samara Iqbal, UK qualified solicitors from TWS Legal Consultants, hosted the session on 'The Implications of UAE and Sharia Inheritance and Guardianship Laws for Muslim and Non-Muslim Individuals'. Members learnt how UAE and Sharia laws provide for the distribution of property, business interests and personal assets in the event of death, and how they may affect the future guardianship of children. Furthermore, why it is important to write a Will to cover assets, and putting guardianship documents in place to secure arrangements for children in the event of death, for those of Muslim or non-Muslim faith. Leah and Samara also touched on the important upcoming changes due to take place in early 2015, namely the establishment of the 'DIFC Wills and Probate Registry'. The DIFC Wills and Probate Registry will mark the introduction of a new set of rules relating to succession and inheritance matters for non-Muslims with assets situated in Dubai.

Elizabeth Fillipouli, Founder and CEO Global Thinkers Forum later hosted another session on 'Leading with Values for Organizational Excellence'. The half-day session got members into the mode of reflecting on/visiting the most important values that guide them in life while getting an understanding of whether they are bringing these values to their work environment. Elizabeth also discussed ways of determining whether a work environment operates under a system of shared values that can maximize employee performance and the role or leadership in this.

The next workshop takes place on 8 February with JudyMayMurphy on 'Brain and Behaviour Fixes to Unlock Your Life'and on 24 February with Tamayyaz for workshop series 2 of 'Leading with Emotional Intelligence'.
