Featuring the former Premier of Quebec, the Honourable Jean Charest

With a public service career spanning almost 30 years, Jean Charest is one of Canada’s best known political figures. Mr. Charest has served as Minister of State for Youth, Minister of Environment, Minister of Industry, Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, and the leader of Canada's Progressive Conservative party.

In 1998, he became the Leader of the Liberal Party of the Province of Quebec. Mr. Charest then broke a 50-year record by winning three consecutive elections as Premier of Quebec in 2003, 2007, and 2008. Under his leadership, Quebec implemented a major infrastructure investment program and experienced a sustained period of economic prosperity with stronger growth than the US, Europe, and the rest of Canada. Mr. Charest is currently a Partner at McCarthy Tetrault, an international law firm based in Montreal, Canada.
