Providing Effective Feedback: Navigating the Minefield

Cate Valentine,Faculty and Emily Hoole Group Director, Global Research and Evaluation at Center for Creative Leadership Center delivered an interactive session for DBWC members on how to give and receive constructive feedback. Feedback at Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) is viewed as a core leadership skill. The ability to have honest, open conversations is essential, and something leaders need to be doing all the time.

Objectives of this session:

  1. Understand the need for providing feedback in the workplace
  2. Learn CCL’s model of giving effective feedback using Situation-Behavior-Impact (SBI) language
  3. Practice delivering and receiving feedback using the CCL Feedback Model
  4. Review common mistakes in delivering feedback
  5. Create a plan of action for more effectively delivering feedback to others
