The MindCloud Academy programme got off to a great start on 30 June with the founder of Pi Slice and Mind Cloud Academy, Genny Ghanimeh facilitating the first Business Model course.

During the session, Genny discussed the Business Model Canvas Building Blocks-Value Proposition; Success Metrics; Customers’ Segments; Sales Channels; Unfair Advantage; Key Competitors; Key Partnerships; Revenue Streams; Cost Structure; Risks and Mitigation Strategies. She talked about the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and the considerations required for building an MVP.

On the second day of week one, Joe Kawkabani, CEO of CPC Africa facilitated the session on the topic of Finance.

He elaborated about funding strategies and about understanding financial assumptions. He also taught the participants how to evaluate and comprehend cash flows / profit and loss sheets. The discussion continued with creating budgets, valuation and financial models. Participants of the session also learned how to prepare an investment deck, investor pitch and elevator pitch which are commonly used to provide a quick overview of business plans often presented during meetings with potential investors, customers, partners and co-founders.
