Women around the world play a big role in business and economy along with men. However, many women do not get a chance to express their thoughts and ideas or find someone who would listen to and share their visions and thoughts. It is to cater to their needs that Dubai Businesswomen’s Council was founded in 2002.
The Council supports women who seek to achieve their ambitions to become successful businesswomen and leaders. We also assist them in establishing their own businesses. Ever since its establishment, the Council’s main concern has been to motivate women to be productive members of the society and economy. We encourage role models to come up from the ranks as that would inspire other women around the world, especially in the Arab region, to discover their true potential.
The Council proactively encourages participation of women in various economic sectors. It seeks to enhance their role by encouraging their participation in investment activities. It provides training programs and conduct studies to help them become successful businesswomen. The main objectives of the Council are:
- To represent the Council at Arab and international conferences and forums relating to business and professional women.
- To cooperate with local and international institutions to increase awareness about the Council, and share and contribute business ideas among businesswomen and various organizations.
- To find solutions to problems facing women at the work place and make suggestions and recommendations to solve these problems.
- The Council helps women to liaise with the Dubai Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
