| 16/12/2009 Dubai , United Arab Emirates |
Mrs. Raja Easa
Al-Gurg, President of the Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) is
proud of the leading role being played by Emirati women and their
occupying the highest positions in different fields. She said this
while praising the “Emirates Women Award,” during a press conference
that was held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al
Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation, Chairman of Emirates
Airlines Group, and the Honorary Patron of Dubai Quality Group. The
award aims to appreciate and honour the unique contributions of
professional and businesswomen in the UAE.
Mrs. Al-Gurg,
during the Emirates Women Award ceremony press conference, which was
held yesterday at the Raffles Hotel,
“Emirates Women
Award” is considered an effective platform to exploit the hidden
potential of women. "Year after year, we can see how the programs
launched by the Award are developing and flourishing in line with
the increasing number of ladies who are excelling in their
businesses,” Mrs. Al-Gurg said.
She said it
never crossed her mind that Emirati women would succeed in managing
businesses individually. But as one who has worked in this field for
over two decades, she asserted that Emirati ladies were capable of
succeeding in their chosen lines and could manage their businesses
personally and directly, with their will and determination.
She also noted
that traditional businesses, which were open only for men before,
are currently witnessing a major shift, because women have now
excelled in managing many areas in such a field. Previously, they
were limited to works relating to education and health.
